Biking the Island
Drummond Island is truly a bikers paradise - and you don't need to be a prime physical speciment to ride many of the trails and routes around the Island!
Take off in any direction from Yacht Haven and in no time at all you can be "in the bush". Or stick to the roads and enjoy a guiet tour of the more civilized parts of the Island. Drummond Island's paved roads tend to be lightly traveled, and its drivers courteous and alert - a consequence of the constant possibility of wildlife encounters.
If you didn't bring a bike of your own along but still want to get out and explore beyond Yacht Haven proper then just head up to the Marina Store. DIYH has a nice line-up of bicycles available for rent by the hour, day or week.
Looking for a bit of a challenge? Stop by the Drummond Island Tourist Association located at the "four corners" and pick up a copy of the handy little booklet A Mountain Biker's Guide to Drummond Island. Dan Harrison has laid out 6 "rides" that vary in difficulty from Novice to Advanced.
